Thesis Theme for WordPress
Learn How YOU Can Design a Website with Thesis 1.6
No matter how many times I do it, every time I build a website, I think the same thing:

Man, this should be easier!

My personal quest to “make this easier” is what led me to develop Thesis, and ultimately, this path led me to a newer, broader goal:

I want to make building websites easier and more fun for everyone.

Google GWT

Compiere: Switching from Swing to GWT
- see the Dashboard they have ( even on java Swing ) in the screen demos, we need to this kind of dash board access to all parts of our 'consumer feedback ' application .
- Since Comapiere choose this GWT over any other means this GWT must be suited very good for 'Enterprise applications' delivering over web.
- This massive ERP & CRM application on browser is great testimony for GWT seems (asr)
- watch video the designers says they get only META data of screen elements and they render every thing using JS in browser, interesting.
- this info may be available in the book below which is endorsed by 'GWT' creator google engineer

Ext GWT: Rich Internet Application Framework for GWT
Ext GWT is a Java library for building rich internet applications with the Google Web Toolkit (GWT). It includes:
# High performance, customizable UI widgets
# Full theming support with standard CSS
# Well designed, consistent and fully documented source code
# Native GWT solution with no external JavaScript or 3rd party libraries
- good UI compoents to view -- you can see source java code at the bottom of the panel for all components
- Top 5 GWT Libraries
- GWT resources

- Book review

It seems GWT fights with Falsh in some sense, if you app is like Compaiere sure GWT wins .., for more consumer applications Flash ( Adobe Flex ) may work

I feel that Flex and GWT are the key players for web development with Java backends in the area of RIA.

http://code.google.com/p/gwt-ext/
-There are a lot of similarities in what GWT and Flex deliver from a functionality stand point however the right technology depends on the application being build. There is a lot to discuss regarding the differences and sweetspots of GWT over Flex and vice-versa.
-For now I'll just mention that GWT really does a good job optimizing the size of the application JS and making sure that the web application is loaded in the most efficient way over the wire with smart caching etc. This is great for Internet based applications
- These impressive lines might help sell JSF to management, but when it comes down to actually developing a rich application, JSF doesn't event come close to providing the richness and interactivity that other frameworks in this category can deliver. Additionally the productivity level using, say , GWT is far more than using JSF

Google Web Toolkit Applications
“Ryan clearly understands the GWT value proposition and how GWT integrates into a diverse web technology stack–and not just in a theoretical way. With the popularity of gpokr.com and kdice.com, Ryan can speak with the authority of concrete success.”
–Bruce Johnson, creator of Google Web Toolkit

Ajax Libraries Javascript frameworks

Before going into ajax Libs , we need to identify nextgen web development tool aptana
The Aptana Studio Community Edition provides a full-featured web development environment. The Community Edition represents the core pieces of the Aptana frameworks for editing, debugging, synchronization, and project management.
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript Development
- Pre-included popular Ajax libraries
- Ajax Support

Since there are lots of them available When considering which Ajax Library to use , look at some decision factors such as endorsement from the reputated tools such as aptana studo
Aptata bundles these libs: -- look at menu "Bundled Ajax Libraries"

Ext Js -- seems it provide good UI layouts out of box
Dow customer - if you look at "Index Information" table it shows sortable nice Tabular Data ..

JQuery

Aflaxtm stands for Asynchronous Flash and XML. Defined simply, Aflax is a development methodology which combines Ajax and Flash to create more dynamic web based applications.

Developed by Paul Colton, the Aflax technology is available as a library that enables developers to use JavaScript to fully utilize all of the features of Adobe's Flash runtime -- including graphics, networking, video and camera support
Q. Who was Aflax created by and why?

A. The Aflax library was created by Paul Colton, the original creator of Adobe JRun, and the founder of Aptana, Inc.

Aflax was created to enable JavaScript developers to fully utilized Flash where needed without having to switch their tool and language. By using Aflax, all development for the browser can be accomplished using JavaScript, both Flash and AJAX development.

Q. Why not use the existing Flash JavaScript gateway?

A. The Flash JavaScript gateway that was released by Macromedia was only for Flash 7 or earlier. It was a very low performance library as well. It seems to now have been deprecated in favor of Flash 8's new ExternalInterface which is much faster and more capable. The ExternalInterface is what Aflax is using.

Q. How is this different than just calling functions directly in Flash?

A. The biggest difference is that you don't need to use ActionScript or the Flash IDE -- and you don't need to compile anything. The point of Aflax is that you can do all of your Flash development in JavaScript, which also gains you the ability to seamlessly mix the two worlds (JavaScript and Flash) with a single language. Aflax hides all the communications to the Flash object so all of your logic can remain in one place.

web Notes , documentation , HTML help pages

this realplayer help has the best HTML help system i have seen so far at this url . If url changes later in future find 'product help' page from Real player web site. Study JS code behind the help page. This help format , content layout should be industry standard. http://i.realone.com/product/help/rp11/en/R1P.htm
it has
a) instanat serachble ( for each key stroke )index
b) rank based serach
c) glossary
d) all of them integrated with nice 'MS outlook ' like left side MENU. cool

---------
Nice category Menu from adobe labs - It looks clean and simple ( may be need little bigger font )
This is also best way of explaining a new language or new frame work all in one page. It is in one page so user do not get lost.. easy to grasp all the aspects of a frame work in one place .. ( this spray is found from aptana ..)

This google menu category based list is great and it is clean - http://code.google.com/more/#label=New&product=android
- wow great way of listing category items , simple and clean google way ..
Any company documentations can be this simple and clean to access documents , Ask people to enter information in xml file and have a program to generate the final file UI like this

SUN JSF documentation
-Sun JSF documentation page :
- Neat item lists with no a,b,c,d hard coded no numbers and good font, best example of documentation for tech developers at this SUN JSF url.
- Look at html view source it is great , no hard code a,b,c or numbers. List items can be added dynamically. Good example of no sweat 'developer notes'
- you need to have those div class="pSmartList1" pSmartList2 etc along with .css fiels

abiword
- abiword help pages are simple html page, very lean menu with div css based left menu
- you can have one page for each section with 'listing all sections' on top of page , and having #secNum2 as hrefs .. this gives basically one page for each topic
- how to see , install abiword, go to 'Help->Help Contents'
- you can also search for other help systems on internet (further validate )
